Getting Kids in the Kitchen with Banana Chocolate French Toast {Time’s Kids in the Kitchen Cookbook Giveaway}

School is almost out for my kids and I know others are already enjoying carefree summertime days. I’ve been trying to come up with ways to keep my kiddos physically active, engaged in learning, and unplugged from those darn video games. Nothing makes me crazier then when my kids think they are going to spend hours in front of video games. How do you tackle video games at your house? My kids also have to help out around the house, which is why I was really excited when this cookbook arrived in my mailbox.

My son scooped it up and began planning which recipes he wanted to make. He’s really been enjoying this book. It’s layout is user friendly and the book is filled with fun tips and cool facts that make it really interesting for kids. It is so much more than a cookbook. It’s captured his attention and inspiring him to get in the kitchen, which I love because I think it is important that my boys learn to cook. I want them to become happy independent self-serving men who don’t have to depend on anyone else to get things done. Don’t get me wrong, I want the same for my daughter, and since working in the kitchen may come more naturally to her, she’ll be joining the boys in the garage when it comes time to learn how to change a tire. Anywhoo, I think kids belong in the kitchen. This recipe for Banana Chocolate French Toast is first on my son’s agenda. Check it out.  Not only does it look great, but the page layout is so pretty. All recipes have been tested by and with fabulous pictures and easy to follow instructions, I think breakfast is sure to be a hit!

    My daughter likes making huckleberry pancakes. And, since we watch so many cooking shows, she loves it when chefs smash a garlic clove with the side of their knife to peel it. So she loves to do that part!
