I love the warmer sunny days of summer, I really do, but let’s be real for a minute. This time of year my skin needs a little extra some’n some’n. You know what I mean? My hands get extra dry, and so do my elbows and knees, and let’s not even talk about my heels. All I’ve got to say is ouch! So this time last year I started playing around with making homemade sugar scrubs and I’ve got to tell you that I love them! I love citrus-y scrubs the most because they smell so fresh and clean but I haven’t met a scrub that I didn’t love yet. I love how they make my skin feel {I love to shave with them}. Another reason I love homemade sugar scrubs is because they are made with ingredients that you could actually eat if you wanted to which means I don’t worry about the effects of harsh chemicals. Don’t worry, I haven’t actually tasted any of them, but I have to admit I’ve been tempted a time or two. They smell so yummy! It feels so good to use something on your body that you know is safe. I’ve been playing around with my own recipes (like grapefruit and lime coconut). I’m getting ready to share them with you but thought I share some of the ones I’ve enjoyed in the meantime. There is about a ton of sugar scrub varieties out there, but I think these are 5 sugar scrubs perfect for summertime.
