My kids love orange rolls and while I appreciate their love for such a simple treat, sometimes I actually want to dress things up a bit and this Orange Monkey Bread works perfectly. You know, actually make it look like I’ve spent hours preparing something extraordinary, when in reality I’ve been chasing my 18 month old around restocking all the drawers she’s unloaded – for the sixteenth time. Truthfully I’m afraid that if I spent said hours slaving over a more homemade carb-filled treat that my kids would like their old tube roll friends better. So I played it safe here using their old tube roll buddies to create something a little more celebration worthy. These would be perfect for Christmas morning – or Thanksgiving if you were looking for something fabulous to kick off your turkey feast with. But since they are so easy to make, you can turn any plain old day into something special just by serving them for breakfast. I know my kids were pretty excited this morning!

- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- zest of one orange
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 2 tubes Pillsbury Orange Rolls cut into fourths
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 10-inch bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine sugar and orange zest. In a separate bowl, combine orange juice and melted butter. Dip biscuit dough pieces in butter mixture, roll in sugar mixture and place in prepared pan. Pour remaining butter mixture over the biscuits. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes, then turn bundt pan over onto a serving platter and remove pan. To prepare glaze microwave frosting cups for 12-15 second each. I do both at the same time for 30 seconds. You can use only one or go crazy and use them both depending on how sweet you like things. Drizzle over top of bread. Sprinkle with additional orange zest (if desired). Enjoy!!!

Pillsbury orange sweet rolls are rather delicious but I’m enjoying the idea of making them into a more homemade dish. As a wife, new mom, & working several jobs, I love the idea of starting with rolls rather than scratch!
And you can never go wrong by adding a little extra butter and sugar! My grandmother always said, “It’s better with butter!” Enjoy!
I only heard about the idea of monkey bread via pinterest – such a good idea, and especially for tiny hands! I love the idea of smothering it in gorgeous orange sauce 🙂
Rachel, it’s super yummy and I love using the frosting as a glaze. My kids love it – and I love that I can dress their favorite rolls up without too much fuss!
My daughter would love this bread. She loves orange cinnamon rolls so I know she would love this!
Jennifer, enjoy!
I’ve never made monkey bread. I need to try it sometime. I like the orange with this.
