He was ecstatic (except for the part where he had to wait to eat some until I could snap a few pictures). She’s sort of the queen of cooking on my husband’s side of the family. Her specialties include some German favorites such as kuchen, strudel, and stromboli, and of course, there’s her cookies. I think everyone looks forward to receiving their special cookie package from Grandma Eva. It’s such a special treat and a tradition that is treasured by her family! She is the sweetest lady. Sometimes I call her for recipe advice, especially when someone requests something they want made just like hers, like her baked rice, just so that I know they won’t be disappointed if I make it differently for them. She’s always ready to chat and willing to help so that her recipes can be enjoyed even when she’s too far away to cook for her loved ones. What’s more is that she just celebrated her 80th Birthday.
Happy Birthday Eva!!!
