Wild Berry Sundae with Toasted Pound Cake Stars
Ingredients
- Fresh Strawberry Wild Berry Syrup
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Pound Cake
- Butter
Instructions
-
Make berry syrup. While it's cooling, slice pound cake into slices about 1-inch thick, and spread both sides with butter. You can serve your sundaes on top of a piece of toasted pound cake, or you can just garnish them with a few cut out stars. Toast pound cake under the broiler, on the grill, or even on the griddle. When the first side is golden brown, flip and toast the other side. When the cake is toasted, use a small star shaped cookie cutter to cut some of the toasted cake into stars. Place a piece of toasted pound cake on plate or in a bowl, top with ice cream, spoon berry syrup over it, and garnish with a toasted cake star. That's all you have to do to serve an easy and fabulous dessert that is perfect for any summer day, but especially festive for the 4th of July!
